  • Biography

    B. galt lange als Adressatin des berühmten Briefes „An die unsterbliche Geliebte“ von Beethoven. Heute ist diese Ansicht aufgegeben. Sie und ihre Geschwister standen in vertrautem Verkehr mit Beethoven. Ihr dem Komponisten geschicktes Bild trägt die Aufschrift: „Dem seltenen Genie, dem großen Künstler, dem guten Menschen von T. B.“ (jetzt Beethovenhaus Bonn). Beethoven widmete ihr die Klaviersonate op. 78. Durch viele Unglücksfälle in der Familie und ihre Freundschaft mit Pestalozzi in ihren philanthropischen Neigungen bestärkt, gründete B. in Ofen 1828 die erste Kinderbewahranstalt in Mitteleuropa.
