Biography
Meißnisches Adelsgeschlecht, seit Anfang 13. Jahrhunderts in Schlesien und seit Mitte 15. Jahrhunderts auch in Ostpreußen ansässig. Zur Familie gehören unter anderem: →Eustachius (1519–71), Domherr in Frauenburg und Breslau, Humanist (Erasmianer), vertrat wiederholt Bischof →Hosius (siehe Altpreuß. Biogr.), →Hans Friedrich (1693–1760), preußischer Landjägermeister und Oberforstmeister der Marken, dessen 3 Söhne Alexander|(1723-99), preußischer Generalfeldmarschall (siehe ADB 16; Priesdorff II, S. 105-08, Porträt), und die Generalmajore →Rudolf August (1727–94, ebenda II, S. 401, Porträt) und →Kurt (1735–1807, ebenda III, S. 44 f.), Preußische Generale waren auch →Karl (1724–86, ebenda II, S. 173 f., Porträt), →Christoph (1740–1803, ebenda III, S. 70), →Heinrich (1775–1826, ebenda IV, S. 221-23, Porträt), →Alexander (1788–1848, ebenda V, S. 454-56, Porträt), →Wilhelm (1802–80, ebenda VII, S. 254), →Karl (1807–88, ebenda, S. 126 f.), →Leonhard von K.-Brenkenhoff (1823–88, ebenda IX, S. 473), →Wilhelm (1825–1908, ebenda S. 200 f., Porträt), →Curt (1850–1935) und →Hans (1866–1947).
