    Scheidt: Joh. Valentin S., Sohn des Professors und Rectors Balthasar S., wurde 1651 zu Straßburg geboren, studirte Medicin und wurde Professor der Anatomie, später Stadtphysikus in seiner Vaterstadt. Er schrieb mehrere medicinische und naturwissenschaftliche Werke und starb 1731.
