    Florens I., sechster Graf von Holland, folgte 1049 seinem Bruder Dietrich IV. (s. d.) und setzte den durch denselben geführten Krieg mit dem Bischof von Utrecht und den rheinischen Fürsten mit Erfolg fort. Als er 1061 in einer Fehde mit dem Herrn von Cuyck fiel, war der lange Kampf um den Besitz der Rhein- und Maasmündungen und deren Schlüssel Dordrecht zu Gunsten Hollands entschieden.
