Biography
Roßhirt: Anton Joseph R., katholischer Theologe, geboren zu Sulzfeld a. M. am 22. Juli 1746, † zu Würzburg am 15. März 1795. Er trat 1765 in das Seminar zu Würzburg, wurde 1770 Priester und, nachdem er einige Jahre in der Seelsorge thätig gewesen, in Würzburg 1776 Lehrer am Gymnasium, 1777 Subregens im Seminar, 1779 Professor der Moral, 1788 auch Kanonikus. Er veröffentlichte außer einer kleinen Schrift „Ueber den Beruf zum geistlichen Stande“ 1787, „Institutiones theologiae moralis“ 1789, worin er sich der Form nach an J. Fr. Buddeus anlehnt und wodurch er das bis dahin bei den Vorlesungen zu Grunde gelegte Compendium des Jesuiten E. Voit ersetzen wollte.
